Creations' Truth

“For his invisible qualities are clearly seen from the world’s creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship, so that they are inexcusable.” Romans 1:20

In the physical world, precise timing can be seen on a microscopic as well as on a macroscopic scale. Atoms vibrate at consistent rates. International time-standard clocks regulated by atomic vibrations are accurate to 1 second in 80 million years. The movement of planets/and stars is also precisely timed. Their predictable positions in the sky have been used to mark the seasons and to navigate.

Jehovah—the Maker of these reliable “timepieces”—is indeed “vigorous in power” and deserves our praise. . . “Lift up your eyes to heaven and see. Who has created these things? It is the One who brings out their army by number; He calls them all by name. Because of his vast dynamic energy and his awe-inspiring power, not one of them is missing.” Isaiah 40:26.

Precise timing can be observed in the world of biology. The life cycles of many plants and animals are regulated by internal clocks. Many birds instinctively know when to begin their migration. Jer. 8:7. Humans too have internal clocks, usually governed by the 24-hour cycle of day and night. After a traveler crosses several time zones by airplane, it may take days for his body to reset these clocks. Truly, the many examples of timing manifest in creation demonstrate the power and wisdom of the God of “times and seasons.”

“How many your works are, O Jehovah! You have made all of them in wisdom. The earth is full of what you have made.” Psalm 104:24. Yes, the Great Timekeeper is all-wise and all-powerful. We can have faith that he is able to accomplish what he wills! The book of creation teaches us much about Jehovah’s “invisible qualities,” but it leaves unanswered such important questions as, What does the future hold for mankind? Rom. 1:20.

For those answers where can we turn? ... We must turn to what God has revealed in the pages of his Word, the Bible. When we examine it, we find prophecies that have always been fulfilled right on time! Jehovah God our Creator can reveal what is yet to occur because he can foresee the future accurately.

Moreover, what the Scriptures foretell happens on time because Jehovah God can cause events to take place according to his purpose and timetable. . . Jehovah wants his worshippers to understand Scriptural prophecies and benefit from them. Although God is not limited by our perception of time, we can relate to the terms he uses when he foretells that an event will occur at a specific time. “For a thousand years are in your eyes just as yesterday when it is past, just as a watch during the night.” Psalm 90:4.

Take for example the book of Revelation. It refers to “the four angels” who “have been prepared for the hour and day and month and year”—units of time we can understand. Rev. 9:14, 15. Seeing how prophecies were fulfilled at specified times should inspire faith in the God of “times and seasons” and in his Word. . . for the happy ones “conscious of their spiritual needs” it does. Matt. 5:3.

To Safeguard The Heart

“More than all else that is to be guarded, safeguard your heart. For out of it are the sources of life.” Prov. 4:23.

We are admonished to ‘safeguard’ and not ‘follow’ our hearts?

Yes... Bible writers use “heart” to describe man’s entire inner self. It encompasses such aspects as our desires, thoughts, disposition, attitudes, capabilities, motivations, and goals...Note: “If one of your brothers becomes poor among you in one of your cities of the land that Jehovah your God is giving you, do not harden your heart or be tightfisted toward your poor brother.” Deut. 15:7.

“A man may plot out his course in his heart, but it is Jehovah who directs his steps.” Prov. 16:9.

“On this account my heart became cheerful and my tongue rejoiced greatly. And I will reside in hope.” Acts 2:26.

So we must guard/or watch over our desires, thoughts, disposition, attitudes, capabilities, motivations and goals. Monitor them. . . Regarding the heart, one reference work states, it is “the sum total of the interior man.” Although, in some cases, “heart” has a narrower meaning.

For example, Jesus said: “You must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind.” Matt. 22:37. In this instance, “heart” refers to the emotions/desires/and feelings of the inner person. By mentioning heart, soul, and mind separately, Jesus emphasized that we must express our love for God in our feelings as well as by the way we lead our life and use our mental faculties.

Obviously, our inner personality is unseen—much as the core, or heart, of a tree cannot be seen. Still, as Jesus mentioned in the Sermon on the Mount, just as fruits reveal the condition of a tree, so our activities demonstrate the true condition of our heart. Matt. 7:17-20.

Regarding the heart, King David reminded Solomon: “My son, know the God of your father and serve him with a complete heart and with a delightful soul; for all hearts Jehovah is searching, and every inclination of the thoughts he is discerning.” 1 Chron. 28:9. Indeed, Jehovah is the Examiner of all hearts, including ours. Prov. 17:3; 21:2.

And what he finds in our heart has a strong bearing on our relationship with him and on our future. Thus, we have good reason to follow David’s inspired counsel by doing our utmost to serve Jehovah with a complete heart.

Even Jesus stated: “This means everlasting life, their coming to know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ.” John 17:3. . . “Not only when being watched, just to please men, but as Christ’s slaves doing the will of God whole-souled.” Eph. 6:6...Yes, the “heart” mentioned by itself stands for the total inner person.

And yes … safeguarding this total inner person leads us to eternal life.

Where To Find Hope When Tragedy Strikes

Unfortunately, sooner or later, almost everyone is hit by some type of tragedy. This includes people who seemingly have everything.

Ecclesiastes 9:11 says: “The swift do not always win the race, nor do the mighty win the battle, nor do the wise always have the food, nor do the intelligent always have the riches, nor do those with knowledge always have success, because time and unexpected events overtake them all.”

So then, the question is not whether you will face adversity, but how you will react when you do. For instance: What if you lost all your possessions in a natural disaster?...What if you were diagnosed with a life-threatening illness?...Or what if you lost a loved one in death? . . .You must be convinced that the Bible can help you not only to cope when tragedy strikes but also to have a solid basis for hope.

“For all the things that were written beforehand were written for our instruction, so that through our endurance and through the comfort from the Scriptures we might have hope.” Romans 15:4.

So, to find out what the Bible has to say about coping with tragedy, please click the following link:http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/102014252?q=cope+with+tragedy&p=par.  Enjoy the helpful information.
